"اسمعْ، يُسمَحْ لك” – “Listen, and you shall be forgiven”
Main Theme: The Value of Tolerance and Forgiveness (السماحة) in Islam
1. Faith is not complete without good character.
Belief involves words, actions, and deep conviction. The highest level of faith is reflected in good manners especially tolerance, gentleness, and patience.
2. The Prophet’s emphasis on tolerance:
•The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) praised people who are gentle in buying, selling, collecting debts, and giving.
•Tolerance is a sign of a pure heart and a noble soul.
•A Hadith: “May Allah have mercy on a person who is lenient when he sells, buys, and asks for his due.”
3. Examples of tolerance:
•Letting go of a debt from someone who’s struggling financially.
•Forgiving someone who made a mistake in a transaction.
•Returning good for bad, and forgiving even when you have the right to retaliate.
4. Worldly and spiritual rewards of tolerance:
•Leads to peace of heart and happiness.
•Brings blessings in wealth and relationships.
•Opens the doors of Paradise and brings one closer to Allah’s mercy.
5. A warning:
•Tolerance does not mean being careless with people’s money or ignoring justice.
•Rights must be returned, and debts paid. Avoiding this can delay one from entering Paradise.
6. Final call:
•Be among those who spread ease and kindness.
•Forgive, overlook, and support others so that Allah may forgive and support you in this world and the next.
